African National
Congress ( The African National Congres s, ANC) - the ruling center-left political party in South Africa since 1994, prior to 1989, the organization of national liberatio n of the black population in South Africa, acting, political and military methods to eradicate the apartheid regime. The current party chairman is Jacob Zuma, Vice President Kgalema Motlanthe. ANC was founded on January 8, 1912 as an organization, the Liberation of the African population (up to 1923, acted under the name of the South African Native National Congress).
